This July we have a very specialised unit to share as our Truck of the Month, Arb InnovationsVersalift VST52 on Morooka MST600VD

This unique build stands out amongst Waimea’s specialist vehicles due to its distinctive tracked chassis, as opposed to the majority having regular wheels. There’s a good reason for this departure from the norm Arb Innovations will be using it in conditions where a wheeled truck would flounder, such as mud flats or peaty bogs. This is ideal for work in extreme rural areas, where the tracks can dig into any terrain, utilising their low ground pressure, and get the arborist where they need to be.

Up In The Air: EWP Reaching Impressive Heights

Not only can it get anywhere on the ground, but the Morooka’s tracks aren’t the only impressive attribute. Mounted with a Versalift VST52 boom that can also deliver 16.5m of working height and allows operators to reach impressive heights in any location, making arboriculture in remote areas that much easier without compromising on reach in any way.

The Morooka also boasts other features designed to benefit the operator – for example, the platform has full single stick pressure hydraulic controls to the bucket. In addition to this, it has a hydraulic tool port at the bucket for hydraulic saws for efficient cutting.

There are four outriggers for good correction and stability, with two radial outriggers at rear, and two a-frame outriggers on the front. The build is designed to help get the gear to site with a large tool box and tie down points on the deck. The unit is also easily transportable on a rigid truck.

Overall, this is a powerhouse of a unit, and one that Arb Innovations will be able to utilise the full potential of. We look forward to handing it over and seeing it in action!
