This year’s Connexis Annual Connection event has been a great experience for the Waimea team! Although it was unfortunately cut short by severe weather, our sales, service, and design teams enjoyed the opportunity to connect with other members of the industry. From cable jointers, line mechanics and industry stakeholders from across New Zealand, Connexis is always a good chance to get to know what’s happening in the power & energy sector, its also great to put a spotlight on the people who keep the lights on and the country connected working.

This year, Waimea attended with two specialist vehicles, the Linelift® DHT120 and the Waimea service ute. We wanted to display our new Linelift® branding, rebranded from Donghae to give our units greater resonance in the Kiwi market. Linelift® units are powerful, compact, and have impressive reach and full insulation capabilities, making them a winner in any fleet!

The service Ute alongside this was important – it represents the Waimea difference. When we sell a truck we don’t disengage with the customer, we offer them continued support and regular proactive servicing options to keep their vehicle running like clockwork and prevent any costly downtime. The blue service ute travels around NZ on the regular, checking in with customers and servicing their trucks so that they can continue keeping NZ’s infrastructure and utilities working and serving the community.

It was great to be able to connect with so many of our customers who were using Waimea built specialist vehicles in the competition. We invited all visitors to the Waimea stand to test their grip strength and compete to win a prize. From burly lineworkers to young students, everyone seemed to enjoy this chance to pit their strength against all comers!

Unfortunately, strong winds in the South Island meant the last day of the event had to be cut short. However, it was still a great experience for our team to be able to meet with industry workers and leaders from across New Zealand. If you were there and stopped in at the Waimea stand, thanks for coming by to see us!
