So, what’s a combi hydro excavator? The clue is in the name – the combi combines the functions and capabilities of hydro excavation and a jetter, making it the ideal compact and versatile all-rounder unit. It’s designed to handle both underground utility work and liquid waste management in one specialist unit, significantly expanding the range of tasks that can be performed. From clearing blockages in sewer lines with the jetter to safely exposing underground utilities with hydro excavation, this will increase productivity and lower costs on the job site with this single AV8000C, reducing the need for separate equipment.

For some time, customers have been requesting a build like this, and now we’ve finally delivered. The Combi can be used either as a hydrovac, as a jetter, or both. It’s fully New Zealand designed and manufactured for New Zealand conditions – for example, it features the correct axle weight distribution required for NZ roads.

Waimea’s goal was to streamline operations by consolidating multiple functions into one powerful unit. This vision resulted in the Combi, engineered to tackle diverse tasks. It features an 8000L capacity tank, which allows for either 5000L waste and 3000L water when using the vacuum function, or 8000L of water when hydro excavating. The hose reel offers a 30m water blaster and a 150m jetter with up to 5000psi water pressure. All of these functions are hydraulically driven, eliminating the potential problems associated with an auxiliary engine or split driveshaft system.
