Hydro-Pro Central

Alex De Kort’s Story 

Alex de Kort and business partner Cole Lucas founded a successful domestic and commercial drain specialist company in Central Otago, servicing the Queenstown, Wanaka, Alexandra, and Cromwell area. With this company already well established, they made the decision to expand into hydro excavation providing services such as underground utility potholing, water blasting and silt removal. They founded Hydro-pro Central in Central Otago in order to expand their capabilities in the drainage industry with high quality subsurface solutions. Now with a new business on their hands, they needed the right specialist equipment to run it with.

The Challenge

As a startup in a different sector of the industry, Hydro-pro Central lacked the equipment and industry experience as well as the connections they needed to be able to succeed with their new company. They needed hydro excavation equipment to allow them to dig with precision without causing harm to surrounding services and infrastructure. They also needed the resources, training and service to be able to fully utilise their equipment, minimise problems and reduce vehicle downtime. All these aspects to consider seemed overwhelming without knowing the right team to turn to.

The Solution

Hydro-pro Central is now running two deep vacuum Allvac® AV7000H hydrovac’s and couldn’t be happier with their performance, from carrying out extension works as far as 90 meters away to blowing out rocks when working in rocky country, the team has successfully conquered it all.

When Hydro-Pro Central invested in their units they not only purchased a highly specialised piece of kit they also were receiving technical support and maintenance to help smooth out any issues if they arise. When Hydro-Pro has any questions our customer service team is right on the other end of the phone helping them sort it out to minimise downtime.
